WAR

Well, where does One begin. Currently days are characterised by you guessed it Ukraine. It fills the thoughts of many. Where our days are challenged by views of constant warfare. Wars in the street, in hospitals, schools on families let alone refugees in adjacent countries… We are given views so close we can almost taste the smoke and impact of bullets.

Our thoughts can be despair, But NO…

Luke Ch 21: Verse 9 :- “When you hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified; for these things must take place first, but the end does not follow immediately.”

Where is God in all this… A thought of many I imagine.

Well warfare is a constant in Christian life. Not the battle outside on the streets. But the constant battles inside ourselves: –

To be better people.

Better followers of Jesus.

The first Battle order is to love, as Jesus did and does.

John Ch 15 verse 13: – “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”. And,

Luke Ch 6:35: – “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back”.

Now can I suggest that living to these ideals is a battle worth fighting and a war that’s worth winning.

Open the Bible and see why… Now that’s a challenge, why not consider it…

Thanks for reading this thought.
