Have you ever read a chapter of the Bible, closed the book then realised you had forgotten everything you had read? How often do we read our Bibles but not take the time to listen to what God is trying to tell us?

Stopping to think about what God is telling us must change our lives and if it doesn’t then we cannot be listening to His message. Only by reading and listening to the Bible can we learn to live in the way God wants us to.

So, as we begin a New Year with all that it will bring with it, let us listen to what God is teaching us so that we might find the strength and encouragement to commit our lives to the Lord. Let us be ready, watching and waiting just as were the five wise virgins whose lamps were filled with the oil of the Word of God and who were invited to join in the celebration of the marriage supper with the bridegroom

While the world has just remembered the birth of Jesus, we look forward to his return. We hope that 2022 might bring that return and by God’s grace may we each find a place in His glorious Kingdom to come.
